Nominate someone special for a Helpforce Champion Award today
Top tips for writing a strong nomination for the Helpforce Champions Awards
Don’t just tell us your nominee is outstanding, start by telling us in a few sentences why your nominee is outstanding. This could be a short opening statement that briefly states why the nominee deserves the award. The statement should outline the contributions the nominee has made and how his/her/the team’s efforts have been helpful. Once you’ve hooked us in, we’ll want to keep reading to find out more.
Avoid jargon so it is easy for the judges to see how the nominee is deserving of the award.
Give us concrete evidence as to why your nominee deserves to win this award. Tell us about their achievements and how they have gone the extra mile. Provide as many examples as you can, this can include figures and statistics showing the impact of their work. Testimonials from other people will show the judges how widely this person is valued.
It’s always a good idea to ask someone to read through your nomination as they can identify gaps, and help with any editing that it may need.
Give yourself as much time as you need to get it right. Write your nomination on your own document first, and only when you are completely happy with it, copy it into our online form and press submit. Try and avoid submitting on the final day in case everyone else is and the system overloads.
Anyone can nominate – patients who have had a positive experience, staff who want to reward a volunteer helping on their ward, or a volunteer manager working with a particularly committed volunteer. Also, you can nominate a volunteer team who you believe has made a fantastic impact.
Once you have completed this form please attach any supporting documents, and press submit. If you have any questions please get in touch with us at [email protected].
