JOB SUMMARY

Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust has been selected as one of five sites across England to work with a new project called HelpForce who are aiming to accelerate the volunteering services provision for NHS acute Trusts. Our pilot programme will last for a minimum of one year and will look to trial new or developing ways for volunteers to support our patients as they transition between home and hospital. This may include volunteers to help with patient’s mobility, co-ordinating community support, transport, and assistance with discharge planning and processes.

The postholder would be expected to lead and manage the pilot programme within Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, manage volunteers, share learnings with the other pilot programmes, demonstrate outcomes and work with the Trust’s existing Volunteer Service and the HelpForce programme team.

The postholder will work across the Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust and within the wider community with desk locations within the Trust and at local community facilities.
