Story 17 Ian Craw

Submitted by Rachel Drummond, Marie Curie

In the heat of the crisis, Ian Crawshaw kindly offered his services, saying ‘I am a man with a van and am happy to do whatever you need me to do’. In the midst of the PPE crisis this made him the perfect match to get the much-needed deliveries to our hospices and community nursing teams in a timely manner.

There was no job too big or too small for Ian, he carried out several PPE runs across the North of England while continuing to run his own business. Ian insisted he would not claim expenses, stating ‘as long as I’m helping then that’s good enough for me’.

In these very difficult times Ian has gone above and beyond to ensure our nurses have the PPE they need. He has remained positive throughout, facing every request with a smile and a bit of light-hearted banter. He has been a pleasure to work with and we are so lucky to have him.
