At the start of the pandemic we were quickly facing a situation where many vulnerable patients needed to remain in isolation but still needed important medication. Not having had volunteer drivers before, we quickly put one into place and we were able to utilise the kind offers of current volunteers and new supporters wanting to help. The service has been a reactive one so a WhatsApp group was set up for people to respond when available. More than 30 people are part of this group and they have never failed to do exactly what was required and always ‘going that extra mile’ to ensure the patients were okay.
