Our goal
As the only UK charity solely focussed on advancing high-calibre volunteering across healthcare, Helpforce is dedicated to improving lives via expertly designed programmes. Through incredible partnerships, our initiatives have been tested at scale – and shown to work.
Over the next three years, our strategic goal is to build yet greater alliances to take the innovation, impact and influence of healthcare volunteering to a new level.
Our strategy
We will direct our energy and expertise towards areas we believe hold the greatest potential for improving health outcomes, namely:
- Addressing acute efficiency, with solutions that assist patient flow and safely speed up hospital discharge.
- Tackling workforce gaps and economic inactivity through our proven ‘Volunteer to Career’ scheme which empowers people to transition from volunteering roles to frontline healthcare careers.
- Improving diagnostic and treatment waiting times by reducing the number of missed appointments.
And our strategic focus will align with the NHS 10-Year Health Plan’s anticipated shifts: from ‘hospital to community’, ‘illness to prevention’, and ‘analogue to digital’ – all opportunities where we believe volunteering can make a sizeable difference.
