Claire Riley OBE stepped down from her role as a trustee of Helpforce
22nd June 2026
After an extraordinary period of service, Claire Riley OBE has stepped down from her role as a Helpforce trustee.
Since joining the Board in 2018, Claire has brought deep expertise and energy, helping to shape the charity’s strategic direction and strengthen the impact of volunteering across healthcare.
As Executive Director of Corporate Governance, Communications and Involvement at North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), she has been a passionate advocate for the role NHS volunteers play at both regional and national levels, and her insight has been instrumental in helping to shape high-impact Helpforce programmes that benefit patients, healthcare staff, communities and volunteers themselves.
Last year Claire’s wider contribution to civil society was recognised with an OBE for services to health and children’s literacy – a proud moment for not only for her family, but also everyone connected to Helpforce.
We are hugely grateful for Claire’s commitment and leadership and wish her every success for the future.
