Margaret Ireland has volunteered at our hospitals on a weekly basis for over 24 years and is truly a valued and experienced member of the volunteering team. She regularly buddies new volunteers in their role on the Information Desk and helps build their confidence making them feel at ease. Nothing is ever too much trouble.

Margaret has volunteered in several roles over the years, including reception duties for the Acute Intensive Care Unit ( AICU), manning regular charity stalls, providing basic office duties where required and being actively involved in our Trust ‘Open Day’, to name but a few.

Margaret is extremely empathetic, and has volunteered in areas where sadly bad news is given. She is always there to be a shoulder to cry on and of course is there to make that all important cup of tea. She is a hard working, conscientious person who always wants to give more of her time to us when she can.

Margaret is a delight to be around and always has a welcoming smile. She is a kind, caring and empathic lady who has time for everybody.
