Quite simply, Nicola is just AMAZING

For the last three years, Nicola Davis's been a treasured member of our A&E family, and the team just loves her. This might just have something to do with the delicious home baked goodies she supplies them with each week (a well deserved treat for everyone) as much as her cheerful disposition and her endless lovely smiles as she provides patients and relatives with a cup of tea and a listening ear at what, for most people, is a rather scary experience. As she says, “Just being there to spend time with someone who is afraid and lonely makes such a huge difference to their whole experience.”

But Nicola being Nicola, always goes that extra mile and her kindness doesn’t stop there. She has her own embroidery business and throughout COVID, she inundated the staff with gifts “to keep their spirits up”. Fom NHS logo’d masks to NHS baseball caps, her treats became coveted. Unbeknown to the voluntary services team, she had also visited Portering Services “because they can be forgotten about and they work so hard” and they too were soon sporting Nicola’s caps.

She rarely misses a day, her support is so very valued and she herself is treasured – especially during COVID. She’s a one woman morale booster and it would be lovely to see her recognised for what she gives so freely to both our staff and our patients.
