Due to popularity and over subscription, this is a second chance to attend an introductory NHS Cadets webinar first held in November 2019.

The NHS is working with St. John’s Ambulance (SJA) to develop ten thousand new ‘NHS cadets’ within the next four years, helping to provide young people with invaluable life skills (such as basic life saving, mental health, first aid), offering a route into a career in the health service , and helping deliver on the Long Term Plan commitment to double the number of volunteers in the NHS by 2021.

The £6m cadet programme, jointly funded by NHS England and SJA, will provide young people over the age of 14 with many skills including practical as well as leadership and resilience training and give them volunteering opportunities within the NHS and providing first aid support at music or sporting events while introducing them to a range of careers within health and care.

The Cadets partnership are holding a second informative webinar on Tuesday14th January 2020 between 12:00 to 13.30.

Here, they aim to inform the Health and Social Care system about the Cadets programme outlining our intentions, aims and ambitions.

This will also be an opportunity for Health Providers to register interest in the programme.
