Unnecessary delays in being discharged from hospital are a problem that too many people experience. But at these three Trusts, their volunteering teams have developed new services that see volunteers provide the right support to patients at the right time and in the right place that allow the discharge service to be quicker and smoother. In addition, they help patients to avoid unnecessary readmissions.

We are delighted to announce that for this month’s webinar, we will be joined by representatives from three acute NHS Trusts who will share in detail of how their volunteering discharge support services are being run and the benefits that they bring to patients and staff:

· Laura Shalev-Greene, Head of Volunteering at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust: Fall prevention service

· Verity Barker – Volunteer Service Manager at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust: Going home bags and telephone follow up

· Charlie Kippin, Settle in service and community coordinator at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: Settle in Service
