Ageing Better is a Lottery funded programme which aims to support people aged over 50 who are experiencing or at risk of social isolation and loneliness, so that they can lead more fulfilling lives and be better connected to their communities.

We are delighted to be welcoming two project leads from the Ageing Better programme who are going to share with us the key themes and learning from this important work:

John Arcus - Ageing Well Programme Manager, Torbay Community Development Trust

In Torbay we have been involved in developing localised, collaborative and integrated approaches to volunteering through the Lottery funded Ageing Better Programme addressing isolation and loneliness in people over 50

Natasha Hart - Active Citizenship Supervisor for Ageless Thanet, a project led by Social Enterprise Kent as part of the Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. Working with local people, charities, businesses, public sector services and voluntary groups, our partnerships explore creative ways for people aged 50+ to be actively involved in their local community, helping to combat social isolation and loneliness and improve health and wellbeing.
