Liz’s commitment, drive and desire to help others
13th October 2022
At the beginning of 2021, not long after the vaccination sites became operational, Liz Langdon joined the volunteer team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
From the start she has been an integral part of the vaccination team by taking on the challenge of coordinating volunteer shift rotas and maintaining contact with volunteers to ensure that shifts are covered on a weekly basis.
Not only does Liz gift her time as a shift coordinator, she also dedicates her free time to volunteering as a Meet and Greet marshal at various sites. She will also put herself forward to cover absences and will gift additional hours when they are short of voluntary support on specific days at various sites.
Liz has been a strong link between the volunteer service at the West Vaccination sites and BCU’s volunteer team. She ensures that regular contact is maintained between two teams with regular updates and names of new enquiries of those who wish to support the sites.
Once the new recruits are deployed over, she has been the one to contact all new volunteers and arrange their shadowing with more experienced volunteers. Liz on average will gift 25 hours a week and to date she has gifted over 1,500 hours of her time.
“She has been truly amazing and deserves recognition for her commitment, drive and desire to help others. She has without a shadow of doubt contributed to the retention of volunteers at the vaccination sites going above and beyond in her role, exceeding expectations and is an asset to the service and organisation.” Nia Lloyd-Roberts, Volunteer Coordinator
