Story 24 The volunteer gardeners

Submitted by Claire Whorton, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

This team should be on the wall of fame as they have kept both the staff and patient gardens immaculate during the lockdown period which has given staff somewhere to escape to, to have some fresh air away from the clinical environments and also has given the patients something beautiful to look at during their time in the hospital.

The team have gone out of their way to come into the garden when others were not using it to adhere to social distancing. They have come and cut the grass, watered the plants and just generally gone that bit further to ensure the outside space at the hospital is a welcoming space.
