Hi Becky
Making contact with Federation of Holistic therapist would be a good starting point as Comp therapies isn't a regulated industry you need to make sure that any volunteer therapist are properly trained and a member of an association, this means they will have industry recognised qualifications, insurance and be following a robust policy set by FHT. FHT run local network groups all over the country so it maybe worth finding out which is near to you then going and giving a talk and taking it from there.

@Patricia HuntThank you, I have come across a lot of trusts in my research on this offering complimentary therapies for Cancer Patients but none in a Mental Health Setting.
Queen’s Centre for Oncology and Haematology | Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (hey.nhs.uk) it looks like this trust set something up in 2017, I found the write up for it and its developed well ever since. There are quite a few hospital trusts that are doing similar. Well working networking with them.
There is so much alternative evidence for Holistic therapy with Mental Health Patients but none NHS so its a bit of a barrier here which we are hoping to work around with the use of qualified volunteers under our Charity rather than service provision. That is possibly the way around or having "guest" practitioners in the groups.
For the time being we will offer Mindfulness, meditation as this is something much easier to provide but would like to progress with Holistic Therapies as you would like to.

Hi I am hoping to see if anyone has any volunteers running complimentary therapies and holistic groups for our waiting list support and perhaps on the wards.
We have often faced difficulties with the idea of complimentary therapies in NHS services however I have seen increasingly volunteers providing this in cancer care.
Does anyone currently offer anything like Reiki, meditation, relaxation etc in an NHS setting and how do you go about this with volunteers.
Thank you
