Hi Diane,
This is a topic close to my heart, so I'd also be interested. I spoke to someone in central NHS last year about concept of a 'NHS Green volunteers' iniitative which would try and roll out a variety of roles that impact a Trust's carbon footprint. Some of the existing role ideas mentioned were nice (planting more gardens / green spaces) but I suspect wouldn;t make much of a dent. Apparently the biggest carbon output for many NHS trusts is reliance of staff on cars, so if something could be done around transport that could have a big impact
Hopefully you'll get some responses on her, though just to flag we've found our forums not being used much of late. If you don't get much back, I'll see if I can persuade @Sally Williams to run a webinar on this topic, and we can find out that way what folks out there are doing on this front. I'd be keen to help get something up and running and help evaluate it with our Insight & Impact service.

Hi Diane, Great question! I have a volunteer here who is interested to implement ideas into our Emergency Department project. I will be interested to hear from anyone in Volunteering who is encouraging this as I am keen to support her

Hello all,
You may already know about this but there is a monthly newsletter produced by NHSEI - the Greener NHS Bulletin - it has links to useful resources, events, reports and updates that might be of interest.
The link to subscribe is at the top of the newsletter.
All the best,
Sally

I have been asked it our vols can support ideas and projects around the greener NHS drive . Be that for staff or ideas within the Trust. Any VSMs doing this or have ideas. Everyone seems to be behind it but few ideas as yet!
