During out IAV drop-in session yesterday I mentioned this report that talks about practical ways to apply System Thinking. Whilst we spend all day working within systems I think many of us are guilty of not paying attention to how systems work and how we can use these "rules" to accelerate the work we do.

This report by the Rockwool Foundation is a really accessible overview of system thinking. It's got lots of relevant examples that we can apply in our work within health and care. For example looking at the public health approach to knife crime in Glasgow.

The really useful parts are about understanding the difference between a system challenge and a system opportunity. This is particularly relevant in how we try and apply volunteering to a post pandemic health and care system.

Have a read. It's great.
