King George Hospital is a busy environment with long corridors or zoned areas which for many can be confusing. Our information desk volunteers support the reception staff in the main entrance of King George Hospital offering a friendly and welcoming face. Information desk volunteers are knowledgeable, they welcome visitors and patients, with a friendly greeting providing information and signposting visitors to other services.

As an information desk volunteer, it is important to make the patient or visitor feel at ease by welcoming them with a smile, directing or escorting them to their location. You will signpost visitors to other services, provide information on such things as car parking. You may escort visitors or patients to wards or clinics, those who may need assistance walking or accessing the lifts.

Would suit:
Much of this role is about supporting the reception staff on the information desk and signposting visitors who attend King George Hospital to other services, providing information on car parking.

Commitment:
Usually one morning, afternoon per week.
