Vic has volunteered for the Trust for over 25 years, receiving his 25 year certificate last summer, but sadly now has needed to retire. His main role has been visiting patients on the spinal wards, many of whom are long-term patients, with a particular focus on those who have no visitors or seem lonely or in need of a chat. Vic is a very compassionate person who just wants patients to know that they are not on their own. Vic has also covered additional roles over the years, including several years giving admin support to medical records.

Vic has shown an enormous commitment, coming into the hospital several times a week and even coming in on Christmas day each year so that he can speak to those who have no visitors on that special day. Vic has given support to patients and staff alike by befriending and supporting those patients who need a listening ear and showing great compassion. His commitment to supporting patients and staff alike means that he has come into the hospital to volunteer several times a week for over 25 years and even gives up his Christmas each year to support patients.
