Hi all, we have tried to discourage the over 70's age group although we are now letting them visit for befriending in the home, under comprehensive mitigation. this is mainly through our Macmillan service
We are currently running a survey also to ask if they would like to be involved in fundraising, remote coffee mornings, supporting as mentors and buddies to newly placed volunteers remotely.
We are advising this situation will be reviewed after the winter months.

Dear All
I am interested to know when trusts are thinking of bringing back over 70's and is anyone planning difficult conversations with volunteer regarding not returning?

Hi,
@claire-wheatcroft would like to know what roles NHS Trust Volunteer Services have actually been able to place over 70s in post-COVID. I think quite a few people have been discussing this on some virtual check-in session. I think Northampton General Hospital have been having volunteers above 70? @matthewcollins, is it correct? If so, could you share some advice with Claire?
Thank you,
Vy
