Hi there
I am working on a restart plan for our volunteers now and looking at a phased approach to bring back low risk roles first and high risk roles later depending on Trust policy and government guidance.
I would be happy to share once approved by our Silver Command.
I would like to ask the group about restrictions on those volunteers in vulnerable categories; can we say that those over 70 or with underlying health conditions cannot volunteer until government guidance changes or would this be discriminatory? Can we only strongly advise that they do not volunteer but where would we stand then if a volunteer contracted the disease? I am going to approach our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team but would be interested in any thoughts or advice?
Many thanks
Emma

Hi Emma,
Thank you for your post. It’s so good to know that you have started making the recovery plan for your Trust. @mandy-cleaver shared with us yesterday her Trust’s recovery plan and a document to gather data that will help with their risk assessment plan. Maybe this could help answer your questions? Here is the link to view the files: https://learningzone.helpforce.community/vim_doc/recovery-planning-post-covid-19/ A risk assessment template will be followed shortly.
Hope this helps

Just want to share this risk assessment template with you all. It was produced by the volunteering team at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals NHS FT. Many thanks to @debbie-coatDes for sharing the template with us
